Shaw Industries Selects eTouchware Safe-T Software Solution for Secure Managed File Transfer
A Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary to use Safe-T Solutions for securely transferring and receiving sensitive information to customers and partners
NEW YORK, NY (January 12, 2010) -- eTouchware has announced that Shaw Industries Group, Inc. has selected eTouchware's Safe-T Managed File Transfer Solution for securely transferring sensitive information and large files. Shaw, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is the world's largest carpet manufacturer. Shaw selected the Safe-T Solution after a thorough selection process and examining other solutions available in the marketplace.
The technology architects at Shaw selected Safe-T for its combination of security and ease of use, the product really works well for Shaw on both fronts. The Safe-T Solution is being implemented on the internal network, leveraging the existing IT infrastructure. This will ensure a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and maximum security and control by keeping all data at rest inside their secure data center. At the same time, the Safe-T Solution fits intuitively into the workflow of Shaw's highly-agile business and the fluid demands of their customers. For the users it's as simple as sending emails, while for Shaw IT it's a highly secure and compliant file transfer.
The Safe-T Secure Managed File Solution will be used by the commercial and design groups at Shaw. The commercial group, which is comprised of account managers and sales personnel, will use Safe-T to send large files and business proposals to architects, builders, contractors and developers outside the company network. The design and marketing groups, comprised of top designers who create Shaw's award-winning flooring, will use the Safe-T Solution to send room scenes and other design materials, including 3D schematics and video to customers and partners. All file recipients outside the company network will be able to review or edit the files and securely return them to Shaw using the Safe-T Solution's SafeReply feature, without installing any software.
